Jeff Harris has vast professional experience serving Tribal clients and practicing law in Indian Country. Since earning an undergrad degree from Brigham Young University, cum laude, and a J.D. from Duke University School of Law, Jeff has devoted his legal career to zealously advocating for Tribal clients.
Jeff served as in-house counsel as the Lead Tribal Attorney for the Catawba Nation for seven years, working to develop the Nation’s codes and constitution, managing a team of in-house attorneys, and providing strategic planning for the public safety and justice needs of the Tribe, which included working toward development of a Tribal Court and handling the day-to-day legal needs for Tribal departments and the Tribal Council. Jeff has additional experience working for the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Indian Education, where he researched, analyzed, and drafted policies and procedures related to federal Indian educational programs.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time hiking and traveling with his family and learning make his tribe's traditional pottery.
