Marissa joined the firm from Montana. She is an enrolled member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and a zealous Tribal advocate. Marissa is passionate about her commitment to furthering tribal economic development and she is beyond excited to have the opportunity to work with the team at Echo Hawk & Olsen! She looks forward to applying her passion and her education to her work as she enters the legal field. Marissa is a recent graduate from the Alexander Blewett III School of Law at the University of Montana and the College of Business at the University of Montana. She has earned her Juris Doctor, Master of Business Administration, and an additional certificate in Federal Indian Law. Before that, she graduated with honors from Montana State University Northern with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
She is currently admitted to the Blackfeet Nation Tribal Bar and is authorized to practice in Blackfeet Nation Tribal courts. Marissa has experience in the many avenues of tribal law, including ICWA, gaming, business formation and 8(a) certifications for tribal entities, land disputes, and even employment in Indian Country.
When not at work, Marissa can be usually be found outdoors! She loves the river and the mountains and uses her free time to kayak, paddleboard, ski/snowboard and hike with her family and loved ones, especially with her 11-year-old son!
